Firstly let’s start with importance of iron in your health. Iron is essential mineral of your body which forms the main component of blood that is hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the element found in red blood cells that pumps the oxygen to all parts of your body.

A slight deficiency of iron causes anemia and a chronic deficiency can lead to organ failure.

To overcome this deficiency gives at least 1-2 months with iron rich foods.

  1. Spinach

Spinach is rich in fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Magnesium, and Iron. Its amino acid prevents you from various diseases like cancer. Spinach roughly offers 15-20% of daily value of iron depending upon your daily iron needs, in 100gm.

2. Broccoli

3. Soybeans

Soybeans can help you complete your iron level in a big way, Raw soybeans have the most iron, fiber and unsaturated fat. After boiling they lose some iron content but still are high in protein & iron.

4. Lentils

Lentils are not only rich in protein but they are also high source of iron. Approximately you will get 38% DV in one cup of boiled lentils.

5. Blackberries

Blackberries are fruits with high amount of iron which is very beneficial for increasing the level of hemoglobin and preventing the risk of being affected by anemia.

6. Liver/Chicken

Liver is not only rich in iron but it is also a good source of Zinc, Phosphorus and Copper. With iron you will also get lots of protein from them.

7. Dried fruits

Dried fruits like dates and raisins are very important for your health as they are highly filled with iron. They also increase the level of hemoglobin in the body. Raisins contain vitamin C which is good for your eyesight. It also makes the process of absorbing iron easily in your body.

8. Strawberries

It is not only rich source of iron but this fruit protect your body from various diseases and boost immune system.

9. Brown Rice

It is rich in fiber and iron. It also helps in free digestion and also fights fatigue & anemia. You can replace your white rice with brown for more health benefits.

10. Potatoes

They are rich in iron and vitamin C. But be ensure you eat them moderately or else you may gain weight.
